  • Sherman Alexie (1966), novelista, poeta y cineasta, creció en la reserva india Spokane, en Wellpinit. Reconocido desde sus inicios como uno de los mejores novelistas estadounidenses, fue incluido en la selección de escritores jóvenes americanos de Granta y recibió el Boston Globe por ser una voz importante de la literatura de su país.
